The West Point Area Jobs Alliance
West Point Area Jobs Alliance (The Jobs Alliance) has been operating since January 16, 2008 supported by the Cities of Lanett, Alabama, Valley, Alabama and West Point, Georgia.
The Jobs Alliance is continuing operation in 2009 supported by the City of West Point, Georgia to provide detailed knowledge and support to community members seeking employment, and to existing and new employers seeking quality team members for their industry.
Trained staff and volunteers at the Jobs Alliance Centers assisted local community members with on-line applications for the production and maintenance positions at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. until the deadline of February 7, 2008. The Centers also assisted community members with applications for other local industries.
The Mayor, City Manager, staff and volunteers of the City of West Point seek to provide a service that benefits the community by expanding and helping with employment opportunities for the citizens of the area. Employers are encouraged to provide their vacancy announcements to The Jobs Alliance. On June 12, 2008, the Jobs Alliance sponsored a jobs fair, Jobs Focus'08 at the Community Center in Valley with over 900 citizens attending. The Jobs Alliance is partnering with the Alabama Industrial Development Training Institute (AIDT) to assist our citizens in making Applications for Training with the Alabama Kia Suppliers.
